Tactical Finance was a short-lived project creating an undercommon, alterative funding economy for graduates students doing critical and experimental work associated with PHuN (the Posthuman Network). With funds from the Center for Philosophical Technologies, I engineered two blockchain mining "rigs" (a 5-GPU Ethereum mining computer and storage based Burst mining rig). Stored in the Center's space, the computers used the university's energy to solve cryptographic problems and contribute to the verification of Ethereum and Burst transactions. I created a DAO (Decentrealized Autonomous Organization) which would allow participants to propose projects to be funded using the cryptocurrency generated by the project. The social-economic aspect of the project was unrealized as the GPUs and hard drives which were the core of the computers' relevance were stolen.
